About this scholarship
What you get
At University of Zaragoza (Spain), you pay lower tuition fees. Non-EU students who do not live in Spain generally pay a higher fee per credit than students resident in Spain. This scholarship eliminates this difference, meaning you pay the same, lower rate as students resident in Spain. This is a tuition fee reduction, not a monthly cash payment. How much you save depends on your degree programme and the number of credits you are taking. The University of Zaragoza awards the grant for official Bachelor’s (Grado) and Master’s (Máster Universitario) degree programmes in the 2026–2027 academic year.
Who can apply
- Nationality: You are not an EU citizen and do not have your usual place of residence in Spain.
- Legal stay: You hold a valid residence or study permit for Spain, or have already started the process of renewing it.
- Degree: You are enrolled on an official Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programme at the University of Zaragoza for the period from 2026 to 2027.
- Field of study: All compartments are open.
- Financial need: Your household income is below a specified threshold. This threshold increases with the size of the household; for example, it is approximately 8,843 EUR for one person, 22,107 EUR for four people and up to 36,255 EUR for eight people.
- Grades: You meet the minimum academic requirements for the general scholarship awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Education; however, less stringent conditions apply to you. The required grade point average is reduced by 0.5 points, and the percentage of credit points required is reduced by 15 percentage points. In the event of a tie, the applicant with the better academic record will be selected.
How to apply
You must complete the official application form, sign it and submit it online via the University of Zaragoza’s electronic portal (SOLICIT@). You must log in using a digital certificate or your university account. The application period runs from 8 July to 18 September 2026. Selection is based on an administrative review of your income and academic results; there is therefore no interview.
How realistic are your chances?
This scholarship is very restrictive. Only students from non-EU countries who are not resident in Spain, who are enrolled at the University of Zaragoza and whose income falls below a relatively low income threshold are eligible to apply. As a result, the pool of eligible applicants remains small, and the academic requirements are even lower than those for the national scholarship. If you clearly meet the income and enrolment criteria and can provide proof of this, your chances are good.
