About this scholarship
What the scholarship gives you
You will receive a fully or partially funded Master's scholarship scholarship to study in the United Kingdom. It covers tuition fees and living costs. The British Lebanese Association (BLA) has set up this fund to support Lebanon in building specialist expertise within the country, and manages it in partnership with the Said Foundation. The fund awards two to three master’s scholarships each year.
Who can apply
- Nationality and residence: You are a Lebanese national and live in Lebanon.
- Where you study: You are studying exclusively at a university in the United Kingdom on a Master’s programme.
- Degree level: You already hold a bachelor’s degree and would like to undertake a master’s programme. PhDs are not eligible for funding.
- Work experience: Since completing your bachelor’s degree, you have been working or gaining professional experience. Applying for a job straight after completing your first degree is rarely successful.
- Return plan: You’re planning to return to Lebanon after your studies and work there.
- Financial need: Preference will be given to applicants who would otherwise be unable to afford to study abroad.
- Field of study: Preferred subject areas include economic policy, education, health, the environment, energy efficiency, media and communication, the arts, human rights, refugee studies, post-conflict rehabilitation, and psychology or psychotherapy. Clinical medicine and dentistry, economics and finance, computer science, engineering and scientific research are not eligible for funding.
- Engagement: You have worked on a voluntary basis and have a clear humanitarian vision for your society. The BLA is non-denominational and open to all Lebanese communities.
