About this scholarship
What the Lord Kelvin Postgraduate Scholarship gives you
You will receive a research grant of approximately 3,140 EUR (roughly 3,000 GBP) for one year. The School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Glasgow awards this grant to PhD students in physics and astronomy. The funding is intended to support your research work, for example to cover travel to conferences and project costs. It is awarded in addition to the funding that covers your PhD place.
Who can apply
- Level: You are currently working on your PhD or are just starting your PhD.
- Field of study: Physics and Astronomy.
- University: You are studying at the University of Glasgow in the School of Physics and Astronomy.
- Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
How to apply
Applications must be made via the University of Glasgow’s scholarship scheme for the School of Physics and Astronomy. The application deadline is 28 February.
How realistic are your chances?
This award is very specific: it is aimed exclusively at PhD students in physics and astronomy at a single university, meaning that only a small number of people are eligible.
