Para honrar todos discapacitados estudiantes y apoyo en su trabajo académico Hayshree y Mukund Mehta fundó un premio llamado Amit Mehta premio. Amit Mehta fue su hijo enfermo que era estudiante de doctorado e investigador de Alzheimer. Amit Mehta murió mientras dormía en el 2005. Sus padres ahora están dando el premio en respeto a la memoria de su hijo.
