General Description
In honor of Dr. Desmond Gaffney a prize has been established at University College Cork. The Gaffney Prize in directed towards Third Year Medical students and Second Year Graduate Entry Medical students. The prize will be awarded to the student that submits the best essay over a topic relevant to the practice of Anaesthesia and or Intensive Care Medicine. The essay is mandatory for all Second Year Graduate Entry and Third Year Medicine students. The prize is awarded annually. It is valued at €1,000.
Requirements
The student must be a University College Cork student. To be eligible the student must be a Third Year Medical student or Second Year Graduate Entry Medical student. The student must submit an essay over a topic relevant to the clinical practice of Anaesthesia or Intensive Care Medicine. To receive the prize the students essay must be judged as the best.
