About this scholarship

Brändö municipality Jubilee Fund scholarship

You will receive a one-off grant in the form of a cash payment to support cultural work or education. Each year, the fund pays out 4% of its capital, which is divided amongst all the grants awarded that year. Consequently, the individual grants are small amounts. The money comes from the Brändö Anniversary Fund, a small island community in the autonomous region of Åland in Finland. The fund primarily supports culture and, secondarily, education and training.

Who can apply

  • Who you are: You are a private person or an association.
  • Where you live: Brändö is your home municipality, which means you are registered there.
  • What for: You use the money for cultural activities (the main priority) or for education and training.
  • Field of study: Any field.
  • Nationality: Any nationality, provided that Brändö is your home municipality.
  • Repeat applications: If you have received a grant for two consecutive years, you cannot apply in the third year. After a year without a grant, you may apply again.

How to apply

You must submit a written application to Brändö Local Authority, setting out what you need the money for. The Local Authority will publish the call for applications on its noticeboard and in the August/September information leaflet for at least one month. Grants are awarded each year before 15 October.
