About this scholarship

Finnish Medical Foundation Research Grant

You will receive Research Grant of 13,500 EUR to 60,000 EUR to enable you to devote yourself full-time to your medical or dental research. The exact amount depends on your career stage and the duration of your research work. PhD students receive 13,500 EUR, 27,000 EUR or 54,000 EUR. Postdoctoral researchers receive 15,000 EUR, 30,000 EUR or 60,000 EUR. These amounts fund a research period of 6, 12 or 24 months. For example, 27,000 EUR covers 12 months for a PhD student. You will receive the money either as a tax-free grant, paid directly to you, or as a salary via your university or hospital. During the research period, you may spend up to 25% of your working hours on other paid work. The funding comes from the Finnish Medical Foundation (Suomen Lääketieteen Säätiö), which awards grants totalling over 2 million euros annually.
