Hans Bang Foundation scholarship

You will receive a personal research grant from the Hans Bang Foundation (Hans Bang Stiftelsen), a private Finnish foundation. The money is intended to support your own research in the field of business administration or the development of global trade. In recent years, it has mostly been awarded to individuals writing a Master’s thesis. The foundation does not disclose the amount of the grant. It determines the amount on a case-by-case basis and pays it out once a year in December.

Who can apply

• Who you are: You are applying as a private individual conducting your own research, and not as a university or organisation.
• Level: You are working on a Master’s thesis or a similar research project as part of your postgraduate studies.
• Field: Your work is in business economics, the economic sciences more broadly, or the development of global trade.
• Quality: Your project meets academic standards.
• Nationality: All nationalities can apply. Applicants have mostly come from Finnish universities, such as Hanken School of Economics, Aalto University, Abo Akademi University, the University of Oulu and the University of Tampere.

How to apply

Applications are made online via the Foundation’s portal, where you must first create an account. The application period runs every year from 1 to 30 September. You can complete the form in Swedish, Finnish or English. The Foundation decides on the award of scholarships in December.
