Foundation for Nutrition Research - Scholarship

Benefit

You will receive a research grant of around 30,000 EUR for one year of full-time doctoral research. You may choose to receive the amount as a lump sum or in several instalments. The Foundation for Nutrition Research (in Finnish: Ravitsemuksen Tutkimussäätiö) awards this grant to promote scientific research in the fields of nutrition, food science and related life sciences. Approximately 60,000 EUR is distributed per call for applications.

Eligibility

• What you work on: You are writing a doctoral thesis, another academic paper or carrying out an independent research project. Review articles on the subject of the call for proposals are also sometimes funded.
• Field: Your research is in nutrition, food science or a related bioscience. The August 2026 call has the theme "Bioactive components of foods: from analytics to health effects".
• Nationality: You are a Finnish national.
• University: Any university is fine; there is no requirement to attend a specific one.
• Who applies: You can apply either individually or as a research group.

How to apply

Please complete the Foundation’s application form and submit it, together with the supporting documents, by email or post by 31 August. The Board will make its decision in September or October, and each applicant will be informed personally of the outcome.
