Higher Education Scholarships of the Aube department

You will receive a one-off supplementary grant of approximately 540 EUR per year, paid as a single bank transfer, to help you continue your studies after the Baccalauréat (the French school-leaving certificate). The Aube Departmental Council sets the exact amount each year. It depends on your family’s income and your tuition fees. This is a voluntary scheme administered by the Département de l’Aube. It is awarded in addition to your state grant, so you will retain your CROUS grant and receive this grant on top of that.

Who can apply

• Level: You are in your first year of study following your A-levels, whether in a post-baccalaureate class at a grammar school, at a university or at another higher education institution.
• Where your family lives: Your parents or legal guardians live in the Aube department. You can study anywhere; the only thing that matters is where your family lives.
• National grant: You are already receiving a national, regional or paramedical scholarship for the same year.
• Financial need: The amount is based on your family income and the tuition fees.
• Field of study: Any topic is fine.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted online via the Faculty’s Teleservice (the online application portal). The application deadline is 31 October each year. The Faculty Council committee reviews the applications and usually notifies applicants of its decisions by email by April or May. The scholarship is valid for one academic year, so you must reapply each year.

How realistic are your chances?

This benefit is aimed at a narrowly defined group: your family must live in the Aube department, and you must already be receiving means-tested state benefit. As a result, the number of people eligible remains small. If you meet these criteria, you will simply receive a top-up to the support you are already receiving, so your chances of success are good. Make sure you apply for the benefit before the October deadline so that your application can be considered.
