About this scholarship
CEDEF Mobility Grant
You will receive 10,000 EUR to spend part of your dermatology training or early academic career at a clinic or in a research group abroad. The scholarship covers your living costs whilst you are abroad. It is provided by the CEDEF (College des Enseignants en Dermatologie de France), the association of dermatology lecturers in France, which awards three such scholarships each year.
Who can apply
- Field: You work in dermatology.
- Career stage: You are currently undertaking specialist training in dermatology (DES) or already hold an entry-level position in a hospital or in the academic sector within the French system: CCA (deputy head of department), PH (hospital doctor), PHU or MCU-PH (lecturer at a university hospital).
- Your plan: You are due to go on a placement abroad and have a letter from the head of the host clinic or laboratory confirming that you will be accepted.
- Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
How to apply
Apply online via the CEDEF platform every year by 1 May. To do so, please submit a CV, a personal statement explaining how the placement fits in with your career plans, a project description, confirmation from your host institution and, where applicable, any other relevant references. The selection process takes into account your academic record to date, the quality of the host institution and the coherence of your project.
How realistic are your chances?
This scholarship is highly selective: it is aimed exclusively at dermatologists who are currently undergoing training in France or holding an early-career academic post, and only three scholarships are awarded each year. Consequently, the pool of eligible applicants remains small, meaning that a suitable candidate with a strong CV and a convincing research proposal has a realistic chance of success. A clearly defined project at a reputable host institution is what sets applicants apart from the rest.
