Pass Mutuelle Etudiant.e (Région Occitanie)

You get up to 100 EUR per academic year towards a top-up health insurance (a mutuelle or complémentaire santé, which covers the part of your medical costs the basic French health system does not reimburse). You never pay this amount yourself: your partner insurer takes it straight off your contribution. The award comes from the Occitanie / Pyrénées-Méditerranée region. You can renew it each year as long as you still meet the conditions.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You are enrolled at a higher-education institution in the Occitanie / Pyrénées-Méditerranée region.
• Grant status: You receive a French means-tested student grant (bourse sur critères sociaux) at level 0bis to 4, or an equivalent regional or emergency aid managed by the CROUS.
• Not covered elsewhere: You are not eligible for the national Complémentaire Santé Solidaire (CSS), neither in your own right nor through your parents. You confirm this with a signed declaration.
• Your own policy: You take out the health insurance in your own name with one of the region's partner insurers.
• Field of study: Any subject qualifies, including students at accredited health and social-care training institutes.

How to apply

You do not send a form to the region. Instead, you contact one of its partner insurers directly (for example LMDE, MUTAMI, HARMONIE MUTUELLE or PREVIFRANCE) and take out a policy. You show your grant certificate and proof that you are not eligible for the CSS. You can do this at any point during the academic year. There is no fixed deadline for students and no interview.

How realistic are your chances?

This is not a competitive award: if you meet the conditions, you get it. The eligibility is narrow, though. You must be a grant holder studying in Occitanie who cannot access the national CSS scheme. If you fit that exact gap and sign up with a partner insurer, the 100 EUR is granted automatically as a discount on your contribution.
