CampusTrotter56 grant

You will receive a grant of one-off payment of up to 800 EUR for a study placement, an internship or a research placement abroad. The amount depends on where you are travelling to, how long you will be staying and your family’s income. For stays in Europe, between 400 and 650 euros are paid; for stays outside Europe, between 550 and 800 euros. The amount is higher for longer stays and lower incomes. The grant is awarded by the Morbihan department in Brittany (France) and is paid into your bank account as a single lump sum. You can receive it again for each new eligible stay and combine it with the department’s general study grant.

Who can apply

• Where you live: Your parents’ tax domicile is in the Morbihan department. If you are financially independent, your own tax domicile must be there.
• Age: You are 18 years old or older and younger than 26 during your stay.
• Study level: You are currently studying at university and aiming to obtain a qualification that is at a higher level than the French baccalaureate (level 5, 6, 7 or 8, or the equivalent qualification from another country).
• What you do abroad: A study visit, work placement or research stay lasting at least 4 weeks. Language courses, group study trips and stays for which remuneration is paid under a training contract are not included. The French overseas territories (DROM-COM) are also excluded.
• Field of study: All compartments are open.
• Nationality: Applicants of any nationality may apply, provided they meet the residence requirements for the Morbihan department.
• Income limit: Your family’s gross income must not exceed a certain threshold. If you have no dependants, this threshold is approximately 23,675 EUR, or 37,610 EUR for a higher level of support. It increases with each dependent child.

How to apply

You apply for the grant online via the Morbihan Department’s grants portal. There is no fixed annual deadline, but you must submit your application before the start of your stay abroad.

How realistic are your chances?

This grant is aimed at a small group of people. You must live in the Morbihan department, be aged under 26, not exceed the income threshold, and be going abroad for a genuine course of study, an internship or a research placement. This means that the number of eligible applicants remains small; so if you clearly meet these conditions, your chances are good. There is no fixed approval period, and the grant is awarded on a case-by-case basis for each stay; it is therefore particularly important to apply well in advance of your departure.
