Don Eckstein Gershony grant

You will receive a one-off payment of 3,000 EUR as personal support whilst you are working on a research project in the field of medicine. This is financial support: it is intended to help you manage your studies and your research work, and is not intended to fund laboratory equipment or materials. The funds come from the Research Committee of the Faculty of Medicine at the Université Grenoble Alpes.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You are enrolled at the Faculty of Medicine in Grenoble.
• Your research: You are carrying out a research project in a laboratory in Grenoble or in a laboratory affiliated with a laboratory in Grenoble.
• Field: Medicine and health sciences.
• Financial need: You can prove that you need the money to complete your studies.
• Merit: Your academic performance and achievements will also be taken into account in the decision.
• Nationality: Open to all nationalities.

How to apply

Please email your application to the Faculty’s Communications Office by 13 November. You will need the application form, a detailed CV setting out your academic background, qualifications, personal circumstances and income, a letter of recommendation from your research supervisor, and proof of your financial circumstances (a family income certificate from the town hall or a tax assessment notice). The Research Committee will decide who receives the scholarship.

How realistic are your chances?

This funding is very specific: you must be enrolled at a particular faculty and already be carrying out research in conjunction with a laboratory in Grenoble, meaning that only a small number of people meet the criteria. If you meet these conditions and can demonstrate not only a strong academic track record but also a genuine financial need, your chances are good. As your financial situation is taken into account when awards are made, a clear, well-documented explanation is more important than a polished presentation.
