Jacques Lambert Foundation scholarship

You will receive a one-off grant of about 3,000 EUR, which will be paid directly to your business school to reduce your first-year tuition fees. It is valid for the first year only and cannot be renewed. The Fondation Jacques Lambert, which operates under the umbrella of the Fondation de France, awards around 30 of these scholarships each year. They help motivated students from low-income backgrounds to afford their studies at a business school (Grande École de Commerce).

Who can apply

• Nationality: You are a French citizen.
• Age: You are between 18 and 22.
• Study phase: You are starting your first year of study at a business school in France. You have been admitted following two years of preparatory courses or an equivalent qualification (Bac+2).
• Field of study: Business School (Grande École de Commerce).
• Grades: You achieved excellent results at school or university last year.
• Financial need: Your family is on a low income, and you cannot easily afford the tuition fees yourself.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted via your own school, not directly to the foundation. Please ask for the application form from your school’s reception and hand it in there. The deadline for applications is 2 February. Your school will forward up to three applications to the Fondation de France, and a panel will make a decision in April.

How realistic are your chances?

This grant is very strictly defined: you must be a French national, aged between 18 and 22, be starting your first year at a French business school, and be in genuine financial need. As a result, the pool of eligible applicants remains small. Each university forwards only a handful of applications, but with around 30 scholarships available each year, a suitable applicant with good grades and a demonstrable financial need has a solid chance of success. Please ensure your application is complete, as incomplete applications will be rejected.
