About this scholarship
Jim Hurlock - White & Case Scholarship
You will receive a share of 100,000 EUR to help fund a year of study abroad as part of your law degree between 2026 and 2027. A panel will divide the prize money between three winners. The amount of each share is determined by the winner’s individual financial needs. The sum of 100,000 EUR is a one-off grant for 2026 to mark the 100th anniversary of White & Case’s Paris office. In previous years, the total amount has generally been 60,000 EUR. The scholarship is awarded by the Paris office of the international law firm White & Case. It supports law students in France who cannot afford to study abroad on their own.

How to apply
Please send the completed application form and the required documents to White & Case Paris by midnight on 15 April 2026 at the latest. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interviews in May. The finalists will then present their research projects on 17 June 2026 during hearings before a jury comprising representatives from the legal and business worlds, at which the winners will be selected.
How realistic are your chances?
This award is presented to only a handful of applicants. They must be studying law in France, be aiming for a career in commercial law, and be planning a year abroad as part of their Master’s degree which they are unable to fund themselves. This keeps the pool of applicants small. Only three recipients are selected each year, and there is fierce competition both during the interview and in the final jury stage. The key criteria are a coherent study plan, good grades and a clearly demonstrated financial need.
