International mobility grant of the Lille Graduate Programmes

You get up to 3,000 EUR for a single trip abroad to do research or an internship. The amount is worked out per week: 150 EUR for every week away, plus a 50% top-up for the first four weeks to help with travel costs. It is paid in two parts: 70% when you arrive and 30% after you return. The money comes from the Graduate Programmes of the University of Lille, a network of 21 programmes run with partners such as CNRS, Institut Pasteur, INRIA, INSERM and Sciences Po Lille.

Who can apply

• Level: You are a Master's student (M1 or M2) or a doctoral candidate.
• Institution: You are enrolled at the University of Lille this academic year and belong to one of the 21 Graduate Programmes.
• What the trip is for: As a Master's student you go abroad for an internship or project; as a doctoral candidate you go for a research stay linked to your thesis. Conferences, academic study-abroad stays for Master's students, and travel within France are not funded.
• Where you go: Abroad, to a foreign lab, public or private institution, archive, international organisation or similar research setting.
• Fit: Your trip clearly connects to your Master's or doctoral programme and to your internship, thesis or future career.
• Nationality: All nationalities can apply.

How to apply

You apply online through the university's MoveOn portal, in English or French, before the deadline. There are two rounds each year. The first runs 14 October to 14 November 2025, with results on 15 December 2025. The second runs 2 March to 31 March 2026, with results on 29 April 2026.

How realistic are your chances?

This grant is cut narrowly. Only students already inside one of Lille's Graduate Programmes with a concrete internship or research trip abroad can apply, so the pool is small. If you are enrolled, your project clearly fits your studies, and you have a host institution lined up, your prospects are good. Applying in the first round leaves room to try again in spring if needed.
