About this scholarship

What you get

You will receive a project scholarship, which is financial support for a specific step in your music career. Examples include: an internship or a masterclass abroad; preparing for and taking part in an international competition; or purchasing an instrument or professional equipment. There is no fixed amount. The foundation determines this on a case-by-case basis, based on your project and your financial situation. The funding comes from the Fondation d’entreprise Société Générale, which has been supporting the Paris Conservatoire since 1988 and has awarded 91 project scholarships for the period 2026–27. The Foundation also lends students instruments (violins, violas, cellos) from its own collection.

Who can apply

  • Where you study: You are enrolled at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris. You cannot apply unless you are enrolled.
  • Study level: You are at an advanced level or at Master’s level.
  • Field: You are studying music or a subject related to sound engineering, including sound engineering itself.
  • Financial need: Priority is given to students with the greatest financial need.
  • Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities – whether from France or abroad – may apply, provided they are enrolled at the Conservatoire.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted via the Conservatoire’s online student portal (ENT) under the ‘Aides privées’ section, using your enrolment login details. The application deadline is 28 February. A panel comprising the Director of the Conservatoire, the heads of the respective departments and representatives of the Foundation will decide on the allocation of the grants.

How realistic are your chances?

Only students who are already enrolled at one of France’s leading music conservatoires are eligible to apply; the pool of applicants is therefore small and has already been rigorously selected. With 91 one-year scholarships, the chances within this group are quite good, particularly if you can demonstrate a clear financial need and a well-defined project. A convincing, concrete plan for a specific competition, masterclass or instrument is what sets applicants apart from the rest.
