You compete for a prize of 5,000 EUR in the research and innovation categories. Every nominee also gets a career boost: a coaching session, a professionally filmed 2.5-minute pitch video published on usinenouvelle.com, a written portrait in the magazines L'Usine Nouvelle and Industrie & Technologies, and direct contact with recruiters and industry leaders. The award is run by the French trade magazines L'Usine Nouvelle and Industrie & Technologies to spotlight innovative projects by young engineers. Entry is free.

Who can apply

• Who you are: You are an engineering student, a doctoral candidate, or a young engineer with less than 5 years of work experience.
• Field: You have an innovative engineering project, for example in digital technology, research, or technology for social good.
• Solo or team: You can apply on your own or as a team.
• Where: You are based at a company, a research centre or an engineering school. The ceremony takes place in Paris.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.

How to apply

You submit an application by email or online form. The deadline is around late September. The editors pre-select three nominees per category. Nominees then record a pitch video and give a one-minute live pitch to the jury on the final day. Winners are announced at the ceremony in Paris in early December.

How realistic are your chances?

The field is narrow by career stage: only students, doctoral candidates and engineers with under 5 years of experience compete, and just three nominees advance per category. If you have a genuinely innovative project and a clear, well-prepared pitch, your chances of being nominated are solid. The cash prize goes to only a few categories, so treat the visibility, coaching and network as the main reward.
