What you get

You receive a one-off grant of 2,500 EUR to 6,000 EUR (gross) to develop an experimental digital documentary project. The jury sets the exact figure, so you do not name an amount in your application. The money comes from La Scam, the French society of multimedia authors, as part of its "Brouillon d'un rêve" grants. You can combine it with any other professional funding you already have. Note that the amount is taxable and subject to French social contributions (Agessa). Funded work includes experimental films and videos, audio or visual installations, apps, web documentaries, documentary series, transmedia work, immersive VR or AR formats and documentary games.

Who can apply

• Who: Any adult applying in their own name. Production companies, publishers and other organisations cannot apply.
• Nationality and residence: Any nationality can apply, and you can live anywhere.
• Age and experience: No age limit and no experience required.
• Membership: You do NOT need to be a member of La Scam.
• Type of project: An experimental digital documentary project still in development. Finished or nearly finished works do not qualify. Fiction, stage installations for theatre or performance, recordings, and mainly dramatic or musical works are excluded.
• How often: You can submit one project per year across all La Scam grants. If your project is turned down, you may resubmit it once. After winning, you wait 3 years before applying again.

How to apply

You apply online through the La Scam website (you need a La Scam account) between 10 and 15 September 2026 for the 2027 edition. The window closes at midnight or once 150 projects have been submitted, whichever comes first, so apply early. Write your dossier in French: a project file (PDF, max 15 pages) and a CV or biography (PDF, max 2 pages). A jury of authors reviews all projects over about 5 months.

How realistic are your chances?

The pool is capped at 150 projects and the field is deliberately narrow. Only experimental, still-in-development digital documentary work qualifies. Judges look at originality, personal voice and artistic ambition rather than a polished budget. If your project genuinely fits that profile, your chances are reasonable, but you must submit in the first days of the window before the 150-project cap is reached.
