About this scholarship
Benefit
You will receive a grant of up to three years to study pharmacy at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Strasbourg. The programme was launched in 2013 and supports pharmacy students throughout their studies. The sponsor does not award a fixed amount; therefore, you should regard all figures mentioned as guidelines rather than binding commitments. The funds come from donations made by local pharmacists and are provided via the Foundation of the University and the University Hospitals of Strasbourg. The aim is to prevent talented students from having to drop out of their studies for financial reasons and to make a degree in pharmacy accessible to more people.
Eligibility
- Field of study: You are studying pharmacy at the Faculty of Pharmacy in Strasbourg.
- Study year: Applications are accepted during the second year of the pharmacy degree programme (DFGSP2).
- Financial need: Your income, or your parents’ income, is below a specified threshold.
- Grades: You have an excellent track record, for example, a ‘Bien’ or ‘Très Bien’ grade in the Baccalauréat (the French A-level equivalent).
- Study plan: You have a clear plan for your career.
- Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities may apply, provided they are enrolled at the University of Strasbourg.
- Other funding: You may combine this grant with a CROUS grant (the French state student grant), but not with any other grant or regular employment. Occasional work is, however, permitted.
How to apply
Applications are made in the second year of study via the Faculty of Pharmacy. Selection is based on an assessment of your application documents and an interview.
How realistic are your chances?
This grant is very restrictively defined. You must be studying pharmacy in Strasbourg, be in your second year of study and demonstrate financial need; consequently, very few people apply for it. If you clearly meet these criteria and can provide evidence of your financial need and your grades, your chances are good. As this is a small programme funded by donations, well-reasoned applications are given preference over elaborately presented ones.
