About this scholarship
Benefit
You will receive a one-off grant of about 920 to 4,600 EUR (1,000 to 5,000 USD) to support your studies in the field of cyber security. Up to ten grants are awarded per round. The money is paid directly to your college or university, not to you personally, and covers only tuition fees, other fees, books and required course materials. ISC2 sponsors the scholarship, and the Centre for Cyber Safety and Education administers it with the aim of attracting more women to the field of information security. The scholarship is not renewable; therefore, you must reapply each year if you wish to receive a further scholarship.
Eligibility
- Gender: Only women can apply.
- Field of study: You are studying or planning to study a degree with a specialisation in cyber security, information security or a similar field.
- Degree level: Every qualification counts, from a two-year associate degree through to a bachelor’s and master’s degree and a PhD.
- Grades: You have a grade point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale, or an equivalent achievement in a comparable grading system.
- Nationality: Applicants from all countries are welcome to apply. US citizenship is not required.
- Where you study: Whether on campus or online, full-time or part-time, in the US or anywhere else in the world.
- Enrolment: You do not need to be enrolled at the time of applying. However, funds will only be paid out once you have enrolled at a college or university.
How to apply
You apply online via the Foundation’s scholarship portal. Members of the ISC2 and the scholarship providers then assess each application on the basis of three criteria: your enthusiasm for the subject area, your academic performance and your financial need.
How realistic are your chances?
This funding is intended exclusively for women working in the field of cyber security with a grade point average of at least 3.3, meaning that the pool of eligible applicants is smaller than for fully open scholarships. Nevertheless, only up to ten grants are awarded per round, so competition remains fierce. If you clearly meet the criteria and demonstrate genuine enthusiasm and financial need in your essays, your chances are good.
