University College Cork - The Seán Ó Riada Memorial Prize

General Description

The colleagues of the late Seán Ó Riada subscribed to a fund for the an annual prize in his name. The Seán Ó Riada Memorial Prize is valued at €400. The award is avaliable to Music students. The student must display the deepest understanding of the nature of Irish Traditional Music either at an academic or performance level or both. Examiners will decide the award winner.

Requirements

The student must have been a registered student for the four years preceding the examination. The student has not passed the First University Examination in Music more than three years prior. Eligible students present the BMus Degree Examination and passes the first time. The student must have display the deepest understanding of the nature of Irish Traditional Music.
