About this grant / loan
What the CRIJ Summer Grant gives you
You will receive up to 150 EUR as a one-off payment to help you organise a small, self-organised holiday project between 19 June and 5 September 2026. Rennes Métropole, the local authority covering the area around Rennes in Brittany, France, provides this one-off financial support to young people who plan and carry out their own trips. First, a panel must approve your project; the funds will then be transferred to a bank account. This covers only part of your budget, so you will still need to contribute some funds yourself from savings, a summer job or other sources of funding.
Who can apply
- Age: You are between 15 and 20 years old (inclusive).
- Where you live: You live in one of the local authorities in the Rennes metropolitan area.
- Your project: You have a holiday project that you are organising yourself – either on your own or in a group of up to 6 people – and which takes place between 19 June and 5 September 2026.
- First time only: You have never received this grant before. Each person is only eligible to receive it once.
- A sponsor: An adult professional (a youth worker or educator, not your parents) confirms that your project is genuine.
How to apply
Collect the application forms from 4 at Info Jeunes in Rennes or from a local youth worker. Submit the completed forms at least one week before your departure and no later than 28 July 2026. You will then present your project to a panel (a committee that assesses the applications). The panel will assess the extent to which you demonstrate initiative and independence, and will decide whether to award the grant in full, in part or not at all.
How realistic are your chances?
This funding scheme is very narrowly defined: you must be between 15 and 20 years old, live in the Rennes metropolitan area and have your own holiday plan, meaning that the pool of eligible applicants is small. The decision does not depend on your grades, but on how independent and well-prepared your project is, and funding will be awarded whilst supplies last. If you draw up a realistic financial plan, secure a professional sponsor at an early stage and present your plan clearly to the panel, your chances are good.
