Aide aux dépenses de rentrée (Collectivité de Corse)

You get a one-off payment at the start of the academic year. If you do not receive a state grant, you get 800 EUR, 500 EUR or 300 EUR depending on your family's income. If you already hold a state grant and study on the French mainland, you get a flat 600 EUR. The Collectivité de Corse pays this to help students from Corsica cover the cost of starting the year. It is a single payment, not a monthly allowance.

If you have no state grant, the amount depends on your family income divided by the number of tax parts: 800 EUR if that figure is 10,000 EUR or below, 500 EUR from 10,001 to 20,000 EUR, and 300 EUR from 20,001 to 25,000 EUR. Above 25,000 EUR you get nothing.

Who can apply

• Where you live: You have paid tax in Corsica for the last three years.
• Age: You are under 28 on 31 December of the year you apply.
• Study level: You study in higher education, from your first year after school up to Master's level. Apprenticeship courses do not count.
• Where you study: Without a state grant, you study in Corsica or elsewhere in France. With a state grant, you study on the French mainland. Courses abroad do not count.
• Progress: You have repeated a year at most once during your course.
• Field: Your course is general higher education. Health and social-care training does not count.
• No double funding: You do not get another start-of-year payment, such as an excellence-track grant, a health or social-care grant, or the medicine grant for studies outside Corsica.

How to apply

You apply online through the GHJUVENTÙ platform (ghjuventu.corsica). The window runs from 25 July to 30 November 2026. The payment is not automatic: it depends on the budget still available, so apply early.

How realistic are your chances?

The residence rule narrows this down: you must have paid tax in Corsica for three years and be under 28, so few people qualify. If you clearly meet those conditions and your family income falls within the brackets, your prospects are good. Since the money comes from a fixed budget rather than as a guaranteed right, applying early in the window helps.
