About this scholarship

Benefit

You will receive a one-off payment of up to 10,000 EUR for one academic year. This will fund a postgraduate programme comprising a research project. The amount is paid as a one-off sum and cannot be renewed. The Central Remedial Clinic (CRC) in Dublin awards this scholarship to provide research opportunities for students with a disability. It is named after Dr Ciaran Barry, who served as Medical Director of the CRC from 1964 to 1991.

Eligibility

  • Degree level: You are about to start a postgraduate programme that involves research, or are already undertaking such a programme, and you hold a degree from a recognised higher education institution.
  • Where you study: Your research is being carried out at a recognised Irish college or university.
  • Disability: You have a disability. This scholarship is intended exclusively for students with a disability.
  • Field of study: Any subject.
  • Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
  • Research plan: You can draw up an application setting out a timetable, your approach, the funding required and the university at which you will carry out the work.

How to apply

You apply to the CRC Research Trust, whose board decides who is awarded the grant. Applications for the grant cannot be made in the year 2026. The CRC has temporarily suspended the scholarship whilst it reviews its research programmes, and will announce future calls for applications as soon as these have been finalised.
