About this scholarship
The NUI Equal Educational Opportunities Scheme
You get a grant to help cover the cost of your studies if money is a serious barrier for you. The National University of Ireland (NUI) Senate funds this scheme for students from low-income backgrounds. The official pages do not state a fixed amount or a set funding period.
Who can apply
- University: You study at, or want to enrol at, an NUI university (University College Dublin, University College Cork, University of Galway or Maynooth University) or one of its recognised colleges.
- Financial need: You cannot meet the costs of higher education on your own because of your financial situation.
- Field of study: Open to all subjects.
- Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
How to apply
You cannot apply to NUI directly. Each university nominates its own students, and the President of your university then puts these names forward to the NUI Senate. Ask about the scheme at your university, for example at its scholarships office.
