Maynooth University - Snooker Scholarships

Snooker Scholarship at Maynooth University

You will receive a bursary (a cash allowance) to cover your costs relating to snooker and your studies, such as equipment and travel to competitions. This means you will need to take on fewer part-time jobs alongside your studies. The amount is determined individually for each student and is not made public. The money is only part of the overall package. You’ll also receive professional coaching and fitness training, a free gym membership, workshops on sports psychology and time management, health and nutrition advice, performance analysis, medical and physiotherapy support, as well as ongoing academic and career guidance. If you apply straight after leaving school, you can receive a reduction of up to 60 CAO points on the entry requirements for your chosen degree programme, as well as priority in the allocation of on-campus accommodation in your first year at the standard rates. The scholarship runs for up to 3 years. It is renewed annually, provided you maintain your grades, perform well academically, remain active in the Maynooth University Snooker Club and represent the university in inter-university competitions. It is run by Maynooth University in partnership with the Maynooth University Snooker Club and Snooker & Billiards Ireland.
