Munster GAA Bursary Scheme

Munster GAA Bursary Scheme

You get 750 EUR per year for up to two years if you play Gaelic games and study full time in the Munster region of Ireland. You get the money each year as long as your results stay good. You must reapply for the second year. The bursary comes from Munster GAA (the Gaelic Athletic Association in Munster) and supports students who are active in their college GAA club.

Who can apply

• GAA membership: You are a member of the GAA.
• Study: You are enrolled on a full-time higher education course, for example at MTU Kerry Campus or University College Cork.
• Where you're from: You come from the Munster region: the counties Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford.
• Club involvement: You take an active part in your college GAA club, for example by playing, coaching, administration or promotion.
• Grades and sport: You keep up the academic results and sporting commitment your college asks for.
• No double funding: You do not already hold another GAA-related or college scholarship or bursary.

How to apply

How you apply depends on your college. At MTU Kerry Campus you apply through the GAA Games Promotion Office or the Munster GAA office. At UCC you fill in an online form linked from the UCC Sport page. The application window usually runs in autumn, so check the closing date before you apply.
