About this scholarship

DCU Fiontar Masters bursaries

You will receive a scholarship (a grant to cover tuition fees) of 2,000 EUR for the second year of the MSc programme in ‘Management and Digital Business’ at Dublin City University. It covers the majority of the fees for the second year. The scholarship is awarded to the five highest-achieving students following completion of the first year of study. It is awarded by ‘Fiontar & Scoil na Gaeilge’, the university’s Irish-language school. The MSc programme is a two-year part-time course taught in Irish. Classes take place on two Saturdays a month at the Glasnevin Campus in Dublin. Grades are based solely on written coursework.

Who can apply

  • Programme: You are studying on the part-time Master’s programme in ‘Management and Digital Business’ (programme code DC627) at DCU.
  • Performance: You are among the top five students after your first year of study. No separate application is required; the scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic merit.
  • Irish language: You are fluent in spoken and written Irish, as the entire course is taught in Irish.
  • Prior degree: To be admitted to the Master’s programme (MSc), you must hold a Bachelor’s degree with honours (Second-Class Honours, Lower Division) or have equivalent professional experience. A background in business or IT is not required.
  • Nationality: Open to all nationalities. However, due to the part-time nature of the programme, students from non-EU countries holding a student visa are not eligible to enrol.

How to apply

You do not need to apply for the grant separately. It is awarded automatically based on your results from your first year of study. To enrol on the MSc programme, apply via the DCU application portal or at www.pac.ie, quoting the code DC627. You may be required to take a short Irish language test or attend an interview before being offered a place. Please note that the programme is not offered in the September term 2026.
