About this scholarship
Munster Council GAA Bursaries
You receive 1,000 EUR per year to help with the cost of studying full time at TUS (Technological University of the Shannon) in Ireland. You can renew the bursary for a second year, so the maximum support is two years. It is run by the Munster Provincial Council of the GAA (Gaelic Athletic Association), the body for Gaelic games such as hurling and football. It supports players who are active in a college GAA club while they study.
Who can apply
- GAA membership: You are a member of the GAA.
- Course: You study, or plan to study, a full-time higher education course at TUS.
- Field of study: All subjects are open.
- Sporting commitment: You play actively for your TUS GAA club, attend matches, training and classes, and help with coaching, administration or promoting the club.
- Academic progress: If you already study at TUS, you have passed your exams. If you are starting out, you meet the course entry requirements and enrol full time.
- No double funding: You do not already hold another GAA-related or college scholarship or bursary.
- Not a senior intercounty player: If you have been on your county's senior panel, you apply through the Gaelic Players Association instead.
How to apply
Fill in the application form from the Munster GAA website. Have it signed by the TUS GAA Development Officer, then return it to the TUS Sports Office. The closing date is in early October (10 October 2025 for the 2025/26 round), and late applications are not accepted. Shortlisted applicants are called for an interview.
