About this scholarship

What you get

If you are a member of the technical or administrative staff at the University of Macerata, you pay nothing (0 EUR) in enrolment fees if you are studying there yourself. For a Bachelor’s degree programme, individual courses, specialisation programmes or programmes funded entirely by external sources, the university waives the annual enrolment fee and the e-learning surcharge. This applies for the standard duration of study and for up to two further years.

Other course types get a partial cut. Post-graduate courses funded purely from fees are reduced by 50%. A doctorate is reduced by 75% if you take no paid leave, or by 50% if you take approved leave of up to 80 working days. If the university formally counts the course as staff training, you attend free of charge, even during working hours. The University of Macerata runs this internal benefit under its 2010 staff-exemption rules.

Who can apply

  • Your job: You are a member of the technical or administrative staff (personale tecnico-amministrativo) at the University of Macerata.
  • Where you study: You enrol directly with the University of Macerata for a course.
  • Field of study: Open to all subjects.
  • Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
  • Level rule: The degree programme must lead to a qualification that is higher than the one you already hold. You cannot use it to obtain an equivalent or lower qualification.
  • Still payable: You always cover the regional student-support tax and minor charges such as stamp duty, late fees and graduation fees.

How to apply

You must submit your application during the enrolment, pre-enrolment or re-enrolment period via the online student portal at studenti.unimc.it. The exemption is not listed on the standard online form. You should therefore submit the application form to your faculty’s academic office or upload it to your personal file and then create a ticket on the Infostudenti platform to notify the office.

How realistic are your chances?

This is not a competitive scholarship, but an entitlement for staff members. If you are employed as a technical or administrative member of staff at the University of Macerata and enrol on an eligible degree programme, the exemption applies upon application. The only real restriction concerns self-funded postgraduate programmes: the number of enrolments by staff must not exceed 30%, with permanent staff who have been with the university for a longer period given priority. For all others who meet the requirements, it is sufficient to submit the application within the enrolment period.
