About this grant / loan
Reduced tuition fees at the University of Macerata
If you achieve good academic results, you will pay reduced total of 531 EUR in the first year and 1,130 EUR per year from the second year onwards, rather than the full tuition fees. These amounts already include the regional tuition fee (140 EUR) and the stamp duty (16 EUR). The exemption applies to the main part of the tuition fees (the COA). The University of Macerata in Italy grants this reduction. You can renew it every year, provided you continue to meet the grade requirements, up to the standard duration of your degree programme.
Who can apply
- Where you study: You are enrolling as a full-time student at the University of Macerata.
- First year, school grade: If you are starting a Bachelor’s degree or a single-cycle Master’s degree, you are enrolling here for the first time and must have achieved at least 90 out of 100 marks in your secondary school leaving examination. Foreign qualifications are converted to this scale.
- First year of a two-year Master's: You have completed your first degree within the standard duration of study.
- Later years: You re-enrol for your degree programme within the standard deadline, have earned at least 40 ECTS credits for the second year of study (or at least 50 for higher years, with some exceptions for certain modules) and have a weighted average mark of at least 27 out of 30.
- No higher degree already: You do not yet hold a qualification at the same level or a higher level than the one you are now aiming for.
- Field of study: Open to all subjects.
- Nationality: All nationalities welcome.
How to apply
You must apply for the exemption when you enrol or re-enrol, before the enrolment deadline expires. Log in to the student portal, complete your enrolment and select the exemption in the ‘Domande di Esonero’ section. There is no separate selection process: the reduction is granted automatically, provided you meet the requirements.
How realistic are your chances?
This is not a contest with limited places but an automatic reduction. If you hit the grade or credit thresholds, you get it. So your prospects depend entirely on your own results: a 90/100 school mark for the first year, or 27/30 and enough credits later on. Meet those and the reduced fee is yours. Just apply within the enrolment deadline so it counts from the start.
