ER.GO post-degree internship grant (Sezione XI)

You will receive 250 EUR per month for a post-graduate work placement in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna. The work placement will last for at least 3 months and no more than 6 months. Your host organisation must also pay you at least 450 EUR per month, so that your total income amounts to at least 700 EUR per month. The grant will be paid in two instalments: one at the start of the placement and one at the end. Subject to availability, ER.GO may also be able to offer you subsidised student accommodation during your placement. ER.GO is the regional agency for the right to higher education in Emilia-Romagna. It runs this programme to support graduates in their transition from university to working life and to retain young talent in the region. The total budget is 40,000 EUR and is allocated through a selection process.

Who can apply

• Study level: You are in your final year or in your first year beyond the standard duration of study for a Bachelor’s, Master’s or single-cycle Master’s degree programme (or an equivalent diploma in art or music). Exceptions to this are dentistry, medicine and other healthcare degree programmes.
• University: You are studying at a university or a college of art or music in Emilia-Romagna (Bologna, Ferrara, Modena, Reggio Emilia, Parma and their branch campuses).
• Housing status: You are an away student (fuori sede), are eligible for accommodation under the ER.GO programme for 2026/2027, and have already been allocated a place.
• Scholarship status: You are eligible for the ER.GO scholarship for 2026/2027 and were already eligible last year.
• Graduation timing: You will complete your degree within the standard duration of study, or no later than one year thereafter, and will start the work placement within 90 days of graduating.
• Orientation step: Before you graduate, you will complete ER.GO’s career guidance programme. This comprises at least 7 hours of job-search workshops and one-to-one counselling.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
• Field of study: All degree programmes are open, with the exception of those in the healthcare sector that have been excluded.
• One-time only: You can only receive this grant once during your entire course of study.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted online via the ‘DOSSIER UTENTE’ portal on the ER.GO website between 25 January 2027 and 28 May 2027. Only students who meet the eligibility criteria for accommodation and the scholarship will see the application form in their account. Once applications have been submitted, ER.GO will invite eligible students to information sessions about the orientation programme and the scholarship.

How realistic are your chances?

This grant is cut very narrowly. You must already hold an ER.GO housing place and scholarship, study in Emilia-Romagna, and do your internship there, so few people meet every condition. If you clearly fit all of them and finish the orientation step on time, your prospects are good. Priority goes to students closer to finishing on schedule, with weaker finances and a higher graduation grade as tiebreakers.
