University of Venice (Venice/Italy) - Fee Exemptions and Reductions

What you get

This is not a monthly scholarship, but a series of reductions in tuition fees at Ca’ Foscari University in Venice. These range from a partial reduction to an amount of full waiver of your tuition fees. A full waiver reduces your tuition fees to zero, meaning that only the regional tax of 186 EUR and, in the first year, a stamp duty of 16 EUR are payable. The partial reductions include a fixed reduction of 400 EUR, a merit-based reduction of 315 EUR (205 EUR for part-time students), a bonus of 100 EUR for rapid academic progress, and a family discount of 400 EUR if a family member in your household is also studying at Ca’ Foscari. This funding applies for the standard duration of your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programme.

Who can apply

• Level: You are enrolled on a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programme at Ca’ Foscari University in Venice.
• Field of study: All degree programmes are approved. The merit-based discounts do not apply to the ‘Digital Management’ and ‘Hospitality Innovation and e-Tourism’ Bachelor’s degree programmes.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
• Full waiver, disability: You have a recognised disability with a degree of at least 66%.
• Full waiver, protection status: You have refugee status or subsidiary protection status, or you are receiving a scholarship from the Italian Government as part of a development cooperation programme.
• Full waiver, regional scholarship: You are receiving the regional grant (borsa di studio regionale) or are entitled to it.
• 400 EUR reduction, disability: You have a recognised disability with a severity level of between 50% and 65%, are studying full-time and are no more than one year behind the scheduled timetable.
• Merit reduction: You have demonstrated outstanding academic performance, for example by achieving a final mark of at least 98/100 in the first year of your Bachelor’s degree, or by obtaining the required credit points and the required average mark in subsequent years.
• Family reduction: Another member of your household is also studying at Ca’ Foscari, your ISEE income score (Italian indicator of household income and assets) is below 60,000 EUR, and you meet the minimum academic requirements.

How to apply

How you apply for a fee reduction depends on the type of reduction in question. You must declare disability-related fee reductions during the online pre-enrolment process in your first year of study; after that, they will be calculated automatically. Performance-related fee reductions and the bonus for rapid academic progress are calculated automatically in April, without the need for a separate application. For the family allowance, please submit an online application by 17 December, together with your ISEE certificate and the family form. For other exemptions (disability pension, refugee status, state grant), please contact the Student Finance Office.

How realistic are your chances?

These are rule-based concessions, not a competition. If you clearly meet one of the criteria, you will receive the discount without having to compete with other students. Full exemptions are linked to specific circumstances, such as a disability or protected status. The performance- and progress-based discounts apply automatically as soon as your marks or credit points reach the specified thresholds. Check which category applies to you and note the December deadline for the family discount.
