About this scholarship
Comprensorio Argine Maestro Inferiore Cremonese scholarship
You will receive a one-off scholarship of around 510 EUR to support your studies. The Province of Cremona awards five scholarships of the same amount each year. It allocates a fixed annual sum across these scholarships, meaning that the exact amount per person varies slightly from year to year. The funds come from a donation received by the Province in 1994 to support talented students living in the region along the lower reaches of the River Po.
Who can apply
- Where you live: You have lived for at least three years in one of the 17 municipalities of the ‘Comprensorio dell’Argine Maestro Inferiore Cremonese’, for example in Gussola, Sospiro, Stagno Lombardo, San Daniele Po or Torricella del Pizzo.
- Degree level: You are enrolled on a Bachelor’s degree programme (laurea di primo livello) or a Master’s degree programme (laurea specialistica or single-cycle degree programme) at any Italian higher education institution. Specialisation programmes, continuing professional development courses and short Master’s programmes are not eligible.
- Grades: You have passed every exam in your study plan for the academic year, and your average is at least 24/30. A higher average moves you up the ranking. If you study a priority subject, you reach the top group only with an average of 27/30 or more; with a lower average you are ranked among the other fields.
- Field of study: Applicants from all disciplines are welcome to apply; however, preference will be given to students of engineering (hydraulics or soil conservation), agricultural sciences, veterinary medicine, food sciences and geology. Students from these disciplines with a good grade point average will be selected ahead of others.
- Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
- Financial need: In the event of a tie, priority will be given to applicants from lower-income families. This is determined on the basis of the ISEE household means test, the official Italian assessment of a family’s income and assets.
How to apply
Please send your application to the Press Office of the Province of Cremona or hand it in there in person. The deadline is 29 May at 12:00 midday.
How realistic are your chances?
This funding scheme is very restrictive. You must have lived in one of the 17 small communities for several years, so very few people are eligible, and only five scholarships are awarded. If you live there, are studying one of the preferred subjects and have a good grade point average, your chances are good. A high grade point average and a lower family income both improve your position on the list.
