About this scholarship
Tuition waiver for students with disabilities at Bocconi
At Bocconi University in Milan, you pay no tuition if you have a recognised disability of at least 66%. The exemption covers 100% of the standard tuition fees and other charges for one academic year, meaning you will not incur any costs. It applies to Bachelor’s, Master of Science and Law degree programmes. It is not automatically renewed, so you must submit a new application each year. You can receive the waiver for a limited number of semesters: up to 9 for a Bachelor’s degree, up to 7 for a Master of Science degree and up to 13 for Law. This is three semesters beyond the standard duration of the respective degree programme.
Who can apply
- Disability: You hold an Italian medical certificate confirming a recognised disability in accordance with Article 3 (paragraph 1 or 3) of Italian Law No. 104/1992, or a recognised disability under civil law of at least 66% in accordance with the same law.
- Enrolment: You are enrolled at Bocconi on a Bachelor’s, Master of Science or Law degree programme, regardless of whether you are in your first year or a subsequent year of study.
- Field of study: Every course offered by Bocconi.
- Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
- Grades: No minimum grades required.
- No second degree: You cannot apply if you already hold a degree at the same or a higher level, if you are enrolling on a second degree programme at Bocconi, or if you have already used up the maximum number of funded semesters.
How to apply
You apply via the online form ‘Bocconi4Access to Education’ and upload your disability certificate. This is only possible once you have completed your enrolment. First-year students must apply during one of the admission rounds, the deadlines for which are approximately 30 November, 5 April and 4 June. Students in higher semesters must apply during a short period in September. The results are announced approximately 10 weeks after the deadline.
How realistic are your chances?
This exemption is aimed at a specific group: students with a proven disability of at least 66%. The number of eligible students is small, and no academic grades are used as a selection criterion. Exemptions will be granted until funds are exhausted, with priority given to complete applications and cases requiring greater support. If you clearly meet the disability requirements and submit a complete application in good time, your chances are good.
