About this scholarship
EDiSU Pavia ordinary scholarship
You will receive an annual, means-tested grant to support your studies at University of Pavia in Italy. It is paid partly in cash and partly in the form of benefits such as meals. The amount depends on where you live during your studies. If you move from home into paid accommodation near the university, you will receive around 7,171 EUR per year. For commuters from nearby towns, the amount is around 4,191 EUR. For those already living in or around Pavia, it is around 2,890 EUR (figures for the academic year 2026/2027). These are national minimum amounts; EDiSU may be able to pay higher amounts. The grant is valid for one academic year, and you must reapply for it each year. It is awarded by EDiSU Pavia, the regional authority for the right to higher education.
Who can apply
- University: You are enrolled at the University of Pavia.
- Level: All degree programmes, including Bachelor’s, Master’s and Medicine.
- Field of study: Any subject.
- Nationality: All nationalities, including Italian, EU and non-EU students.
- Financial need: Your family’s income and assets must remain below certain thresholds. These are determined on the basis of the ISEE and the ISPE, the official Italian indicators of a household’s income and assets for the purposes of student grants.
- Grades: You must earn a minimum number of credit points (CFU). First-year students have until 10 August of the following year to achieve this. Students in higher semesters must provide evidence of the required credit points at the time of application.
How to apply
Applications must be submitted online via the EDiSU student portal by 15 September at 3. You can apply for all the EDiSU services you require in a single application. Places are allocated based on a ranking list determined by your income and academic performance; there is no interview.
How realistic are your chances?
This funding is tied to a specific university and is based on clear income and credit limits, meaning there is no subjective assessment. If your ISEE and ISPE remain below the thresholds and you meet the credit requirements, you are eligible purely on a mathematical basis. Selection is based on a fixed ranking list rather than a competition between applicants’ profiles, meaning that well-suited applicants with genuine financial need have good prospects. Please ensure that your ISEE documents and proof of creditworthiness are submitted in full before the deadline in September.
