About this scholarship

What you get

You receive a flat payment of 10,000 EUR per academic year to help pay for a qualified assistant who supports you during your university classes. The money comes from ERDIS Marche, the regional authority for the right to higher education in the Marche region of Italy, funded through the European Social Fund Plus. It runs for one academic year of at least 10 months, from September 2025 to July 2026. The payment is a reimbursement. You get it in instalments, and only once you prove you attended your classes. To qualify, you (or a family member) must set up an employment contract with qualified assistance staff lasting at least 10 months over that period.

Who can apply

  • Enrolment: You are enrolled for the 2025/2026 academic year and stay enrolled for all 10 months through to July 2026.
  • University: You study at a state or legally recognised private university, or at an AFAM institution (higher education in art, music and dance). Your programme is a bachelor's, master's or single-cycle degree with legal value.
  • Where you study: Your classes physically take place in the Marche region.
  • Disability: You have a very severe disability certified under Italian law. You receive the attendance allowance (indennità di accompagnamento, Law 18/1980) or are certified as non-self-sufficient. In addition, at least one condition applies, for example dependence on 24/7 assisted ventilation, a spinal injury between C0 and C5 (grade A or B on the ASIA scale), severe motor impairment from a neurological or muscular disease, or combined near-total loss of sight and hearing. A provincial health commission must certify this.
  • Nationality: Any nationality can apply, as long as you meet the enrolment and disability conditions.
  • No open disputes: You have no unresolved debt or administrative dispute with ERDIS.

You can combine this grant with other scholarships, but not with another award for teaching-related support in the same academic year.

How to apply

Fill in the official application form and send it by certified email (PEC) to the address in the contact details. The deadline is 30 September 2025 at 12:00. If funds run short, applications are ranked by the date and time they arrive, so apply early.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is cut very narrowly. It only goes to students with a legally certified very severe disability who study in the Marche region and employ a qualified assistant, so the eligible group is small. If you clearly meet those conditions and submit the required certificates on time, your prospects are good. Note that the grant depends on the actual transfer of regional funds, so it is not an automatic right, and early submission matters when money is limited.
