IULM University of Languages and Communication Milan (Milan/Italy) - Scholarships to encourage study

What you get

You will receive a one-off payment of 2,000 EUR (gross) for one academic year. IULM University in Milan awards this as a merit-based grant to students who are already studying there. For 2025/2026, the university has a total budget of 100,000 EUR and awards 50 scholarships, which are allocated to Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes depending on the degree programme and year of study. The payment is treated as taxable income; therefore, income tax is deducted.

Who can apply

• University: You are enrolled at IULM – University of Languages and Communication in Milan.
• Level: You are studying on a Bachelor’s degree programme (three years) or a Master’s degree programme (two years).
• On schedule: You are in a standard academic year of your degree programme. If you have exceeded the standard duration of study (‘fuori corso’), you cannot apply.
• Field of study: Open to all degree programmes at IULM, from Communication and Public Relations to Fashion, Tourism, Translation and Interpreting.
• Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply. Students from Italy, the EU and other countries are very welcome.
• Fees paid: You are fully up to date with your tuition fees for 2025/2026.
• No double funding: You do not (and cannot) receive a regional scholarship or similar funding for the same year, and you have not been granted an exemption from tuition fees.
• Grades: Your ranking is determined by the number of examination credits (ECTS) you have earned. In the event of a tie, the weighted average mark will be used to determine the ranking; this must be at least 27/30.

How to apply

There is no separate application process. The university compiles the rankings automatically based on the examination results already held in its system, sorted by degree programme and year of study. All you need to do is enter your bank details (IBAN) in the online student portal. The results will be sent by email by 27 April 2026.

How realistic are your chances?

Only IULM students are eligible to take part, and the 50 places are spread across many degree programmes and years of study. Within your own degree programme, you will therefore be assessed against a small group. If you have passed a large number of modules with good marks, your chances are good. The selection process is entirely automated, so the only factor you can influence is ensuring you sit your exams as scheduled.
