About this scholarship
What the fee reduction gives you
At LIUC – Università Carlo Cattaneo in Castellanza, Italy, your tuition fees are reduced depending on your final exam mark. If you achieve a final mark of 97–100/100 in the Italian school-leaving examination (Esame di Stato), you will receive a reduction of 50% cut on your tuition fees. If you achieve a mark of 94–96/100, you will receive a reduction of 25% cut. The discount applies from your first year of study and may apply for the entire duration of your studies, provided you continue to achieve good results. It applies exclusively to the university’s tuition fees. You must continue to pay the regional study tax and stamp duties in full.
Who can apply
- Degree: You are enrolling on a Bachelor’s degree programme at LIUC for the first time (Economics and Management or Industrial Engineering).
- Your school grade: You scored at least 94/100 in the Italian high-school exit exam. 97-100 gets the full 50% cut, 94-96 gets 25%.
- Nationality: Open to all nationalities.
- Keeping it: In order to retain the discount in subsequent years, you must have passed all examinations from previous academic years by 30 September of each year, have earned at least three-quarters of the credit points from the previous year, and have a weighted average mark of 27/30 or higher.
A similar merit-based discount is available if you enrol on a Master’s degree programme (Laurea Magistrale). LIUC also offers other, separate discounts which cannot be combined with this one, for example for student athletes, siblings enrolled at the same time, or children and employees of companies that are members of Confindustria.
How to apply
You apply directly to LIUC for a place on the course. The fee reduction is granted automatically on the basis of your final grade, so there is no separate scholarship application process. The application deadline for this programme is 31 July.
How realistic are your chances?
This is not a competition for a limited number of places. Every first-year LIUC student who meets the minimum grade requirement automatically receives the relevant discount, so your chances depend solely on your exam mark. If you have graduated with a grade of 94/100 or better and enrol at LIUC, the discount is practically guaranteed. It is more difficult to maintain the required average of 27/30 in order to renew the discount each year.
