About this scholarship
Scholarships for international exchanges at LIUC
You will receive a one-off grant if you are selected to study abroad as part of LIUC’s exchange or dual degree programme. The funding comes from the Varese Chamber of Commerce and is awarded as part of the ‘Renato Scapolan’ scholarship programme run by the Università Carlo Cattaneo (LIUC) in Castellanza. It supports students undertaking an exchange outside Europe or a dual degree programme (in which you obtain a degree from two universities) in Europe or beyond. The number of scholarships and the exact amount may vary from year to year.
Who can apply
- Where you study: You are enrolled at LIUC in Castellanza, in a bachelor's, master's or single-cycle master's programme in business economics or management engineering.
- Where you go: You have been selected to study abroad. This will either be an exchange programme in a non-European country or a dual degree programme in Europe or outside Europe.
- Nationality: You are an Italian student.
- Grades: You have a weighted average mark of at least 25/30 and have earned enough credit points for your year of study. You also meet the language requirements set by the partner university.
- On track: You have never fallen behind the official curriculum for your degree programme (in Italy, a ‘fuori corso’ student).
- Financial need: Your household income indicator (ISEE) is no more than 45,000 EUR.
- No double funding: You will not receive any further funding from the Lombardy Region or any other body for the same period of study abroad.
How to apply
Once you have secured a place on the exchange programme or the dual degree programme, you should apply for the grant separately via the LIUC Student Financial Support Office (Ufficio per il Diritto allo Studio) and submit your ISEE income certificate. Selection is based on your academic results and your financial circumstances.
How realistic are your chances?
This scholarship is awarded on a highly selective basis. You must be an Italian LIUC student in a specific faculty who has already secured a place on an exchange programme or a dual degree programme, meaning that only a small group of students are competing for the scholarship. If you clearly meet the requirements regarding grade point average, credit points and income limits, and have confirmed your place, your chances are good. As only a handful of scholarships are awarded each year, you should apply as soon as your selection for the exchange programme has been confirmed.
