About this scholarship
India Merit Scholarship (University of Aberdeen, Mumbai)
For each year of your Bachelor’s degree, you will receive an annual reduction in your tuition fees of up to about EUR 2,650 (₹2,50,000) per year. The amount depends on your results in Year 12 (grade 12): approximately 1,600 euros (₹1,50,000) for grades 75 to 79.9%, approximately 2,120 euros (₹2,00,000) for grades 80 to 84.9%, and the full amount of approximately EUR 2,650 (₹2,50,000) for a grade of 85% or higher. The scholarship is awarded by the University of Aberdeen’s Mumbai campus in Powai. There, you will study in India towards a fully recognised British degree. You can combine this funding with the ‘Aberdeen Pioneer Scholarship’, which is awarded to every admitted student, thereby achieving a combined tuition fee reduction of up to approximately 4,750 euros (₹4,50,000) per year.
Who can apply
- Level: You are starting a four-year Bachelor’s degree. Master’s students do not receive this award.
- Where you study: You are enrolling at the University of Aberdeen in Mumbai (Powai Campus), not at the campus in Scotland.
- Grades: You achieved at least 75% marks in Year 12 / Year 12 or obtained an equivalent qualification. The better your result, the higher the award.
- Field of study: Open to all subjects.
- Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
- Keeping it: The amount of the fee in the first year of study is based on your grades in Year 12. In subsequent years, it depends on how well you performed in the previous academic year.
How to apply
There is no separate application process. When you apply for a place at university, your application is assessed automatically on the basis of your results from Class XII / Year 12. All the financial support to which you are entitled is listed in your letter of offer and your fee statement.
How realistic are your chances?
This is not a competitive fund with a limited number of places. Any undergraduate student who meets the required grade threshold will automatically receive funding at a level corresponding to their grades. If you are admitted to the Mumbai campus with a minimum grade of 75% in Year 12, you will receive the grant. The only question is which of the three tiers your grades place you in.
