Josep Damm Scholarships

You will receive 3,000 EUR as a one-off grant for the academic year to cover the costs of your Bachelor’s degree at Abat Oliba CEU University (UAO CEU) in Barcelona. The amount will be paid directly to you and may be renewed for the following year, provided you continue to meet the eligibility criteria. The funding comes from the Fundació Damm, the charitable foundation of the Damm brewing group, which funds a small number of these scholarships each year for students on low incomes.

Who can apply

• University: You are enrolled on a Bachelor’s degree programme at Abat Oliba CEU University in Barcelona.
• Financial need: Your family has a limited income. You can prove this by providing your income tax return (IRPF).
• Grades if you are starting: As a first-year student, you need an average mark in the Bachillerato (leaving certificate) of at least 7.
• Grades if you already study there: You have passed all your credits from the last academic year without failing any, and your average mark is at least 7.0.
• Field of study: All participants are eligible to take part.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.

How to apply

First, begin your admission process on the UAO CEU applicant portal. You should then submit your application for a study grant via the university’s intranet portal. The application deadlines are 21.03, 25.04, 23.05 and 27.06. The university decides on the award of scholarships as part of its annual student financial support cycle, giving priority to applicants with the best academic performance amongst those who meet the eligibility criteria.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is highly competitive. You must be studying at a specific university in Barcelona, demonstrate genuine financial need and have a strong grade average. The pool of eligible students is small. Each year, only a handful of them receive the scholarship, and preference is given to those with the best academic performance amongst the qualified applicants. If you clearly meet the requirements regarding grades and income, your chances are quite good.
