About this award / prize
General Description
The College of Science, Engineering, and Food Science (SEFS) at University College Cork awards a Graduate of the Year Medal each year to its most outstanding student. This prize consists of a specially commissioned medal and €2,000. A second prize of €1,000 is given to the runner up. The top student in each final degree programme in SEFS is identified and awarded a certificate. These students are then eligible for the SEFS Graduate of the Year Medal.
Requirements
Student must have graduated during the preceding session in SEFS with a minimum qualifying standard of First Class Honors. Extracurricular activities in science and engineering may also be taken into consideration. Intercalated BSc Hons Degree graduates are eligible for the award.
