HU Talent Scholarship

You will receive 3,000 EUR for one academic year to continue your Bachelor’s degree at HU in Utrecht, the Netherlands. This is a one-off grant for students who have already achieved good results in their first year and are now progressing to their second or a subsequent year of study. The HU awards this grant to recognise outstanding academic achievement.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You are enrolled on an international Bachelor’s degree programme at HU in Utrecht.
• Study year: You are starting your second year of study or a higher year, not your first.
• Nationality: You are from a country outside the EU/EEA and pay the higher tuition fee rate for non-European students.
• Grades: You have earned at least 50 of the 60 credit points (ECTS) in the past academic year. This also applies if you have transferred to HU from another degree programme. Exemptions are not counted towards the 50.
• No double funding: You do not receive any other scholarship or student grant.

How to apply

You apply online via HU’s ‘Mobility-Online’ system and upload your academic progress report. The application deadline is 1 September. All your credit points from the previous year must have been recorded before you apply. If more eligible students apply than there are scholarships available, HU will make its selection based on average marks and the number of credit points earned.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is aimed exclusively at students from non-EU/non-EEA countries who are already enrolled at HU and have earned 50 out of 60 credit points; the target group is therefore quite small. If you meet these requirements, your chances are good. If there is high demand, grades and credits will be the deciding factors, so a strong academic record is an advantage. Please ensure that all credits from the past year have been recorded by the deadline on 1 September.
