Radboud Honours Academy grant

You get a travel grant (the amount is not stated) towards a study trip abroad that is part of your honours programme at Radboud University in Nijmegen. An honours programme is an extra, extra-curricular track for motivated students. Taking part is free, but some programmes include a stay abroad that you have to pay towards, and this grant helps cover that cost. One example is Project Impact for (pre-)master's students, which includes a four-day study trip abroad. You cannot combine this grant with other travel grants such as Erasmus+, the NL Scholarship or the Individual Travel Grant. If you take one, you are ruled out of the others.

Who can apply

• Honours student: You take part in a Radboud Honours Academy programme, and your programme includes a stay abroad.
• Study phase: Any stage, including bachelor's and (pre-)master's students.
• Field of study: All subjects, as the programmes cover several disciplines.
• Length of stay: Your stay abroad lasts at least 8 weeks.
• Research plan: You submit a research proposal that a committee reviews.

How to apply

First apply to an honours programme through an online form and a personal interview, where your motivation counts most. For the grant itself, hand in your research proposal to be reviewed. You can apply twice a year, by 1 May and by 1 October.

How realistic are your chances?

This grant is only open to students already on an honours programme, a small and selective group, so few people compete for it. If you are on such a programme with a stay abroad and can put together a solid research proposal, your prospects are good. Note that the university has proposed cutting funding for the Radboud Honours Academy, so check the current status before you plan around it.
