About this scholarship

Benefit

You will receive up to 10,000 EUR per year for up to two years. The amount covers your tuition fees: for students from the EU, it may cover the full amount; for students from non-EU countries, it may cover part of the fees. The scholarship (a programme-specific scholarship) supports the two-year Master’s programme in ‘Food Technology’ at Wageningen University in the Netherlands, with a specialisation in ‘Dairy Science and Technology’. The first year is automatically funded. The second year will be extended if your results in the first year are good enough. Up to four scholarships are awarded each year. Wageningen University has set up the fund with the support of the Dutch dairy industry to attract talented students to the field of dairy science.

Eligibility

  • Programme you are starting: As a first-year student, you have applied for the Master’s programme in ‘Food Technology’ with a specialisation in ‘Dairy Science and Technology’. You must not yet be enrolled.
  • Previous studies: You hold a BSc (or equivalent) in a related field, such as food science, food technology, biotechnology, nutrition, chemical technology or dairy science.
  • Grades: Your GPA is at least 70 to 75% of the maximum scale.
  • English: You meet the language requirements, for example TOEFL 550 (paper-based) or 83 (internet-based) or IELTS 6.0.
  • Age: You are under 30.
  • Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
  • Preference: Women are given priority.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted at the same time as your application for admission to the Master’s programme at Wageningen University. The application deadline is 1 May. A panel of four independent academics will select the scholarship recipients.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is very narrowly defined. It is aimed exclusively at students who are starting a specific degree programme in the field of dairy science at a specific university; consequently, the pool of applicants is small and there are only a few applicants. If you clearly meet the requirements regarding grades, age and English language proficiency, and are starting this exact degree programme, your chances are good, particularly as priority is given to women. As only four scholarships are awarded each year, it is advisable to apply by the deadline and secure a place on the Master’s programme well in advance.
