A. P. Møller Foundation for Icelandic students in Denmark

You will receive a one-off cash grant to cover the costs of your studies in Denmark. The foundation does not specify a fixed amount, but describes its grants as generous compared to other study grants. The money is intended as general support for your stay in Denmark and is not tied to any specific expenses. The shipowner A. P. Møller founded the foundation in 1936; its funds come from the parent A. P. Møller Foundation.

Who can apply

• Nationality: You are an Icelandic citizen.
• Where you study: You are studying at a university or other higher education institution in Denmark and are living in Denmark whilst you study.
• Field of study: Any topic is fine.
• Application language: Please complete your application in Danish. Applications in English will not be accepted.

How to apply

Download the application form from the Dansk-Islandsk Samfund website, complete it and submit it by email. The application deadline is 31 December each year. Apply in December to ensure that your exam results for the whole year are taken into account. Applications are reviewed once a year, and you will receive a response by the end of March.

How realistic are your chances?

This grant is very restrictive: you must be an Icelandic citizen and be studying in Denmark, meaning that only a small number of people are eligible. In recent years, more than half of all applicants have been awarded a grant, which significantly increases your chances of receiving one. If you meet the criteria and can submit a proper application in Danish, your prospects are good.
