Women in STEM Scholarship at King's College London

You get about 1,150 EUR (£1,000) per year for up to three years of your bachelor's degree, so up to about 3,450 EUR (£3,000) in total. The money helps cover your study costs while you complete your degree. It is funded by King's College London's Faculty of Natural, Mathematical & Engineering Sciences, which wants more women to study and work in science, technology, engineering and maths. Up to three scholarships are awarded each round.

Who can apply

• Gender: You are a woman. Non-binary and trans applicants can also apply.
• Degree: You are starting your first bachelor's degree in September 2025.
• Field of study: Your subject is Chemistry, Informatics, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or Natural Sciences.
• Offer: You hold an offer of a place at King's College London for September 2025.
• Fee status: You have UK home fee status, meaning you count as a local student, not an international one.
• Financial need: Your household income is £42,875 or less, as assessed by Student Finance (England, Wales, Northern Ireland or SAAS).
• Engagement: You can show how you support women in science, or how you plan to. For example, you help people who face several disadvantages at once.

How to apply

Once you hold an offer from King's, you apply online through a Microsoft Forms link. In your application, you explain how you have supported, or intend to support, women in STEM. The deadline for the 2025-26 year is 30 June 2025.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is cut narrowly. You must be a woman studying one of a specific set of subjects, hold a home-fee place and stay under the income limit, so the eligible group is small. If you clearly meet those conditions and can describe real work supporting women in science, your prospects are good. With only up to three scholarships per round, a specific, well-evidenced example counts more than a general statement.
